Mäkoha Beach House, a luxury beachfront accommodation located on the Kapiti Coast near Wellington is included in the March 2006 issue of Islands magazine, published in the United States. The property was featured alongside others in exotic locales from the Caribbean and Africa. Islands said, "Mäkoha reminds us that good things come in small packages. It has been decorated in modern simplicity with touches of Kiwi flavour, such as the New Zealand native heart rimu floors and Pacific-themed artwork." The magazine also commented on the property being less than a five minute walk to the ferry service to Kapiti Island Nature Reserve, a haven for many rare birds.

The world-ranked Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club and Paraparaumu Airport with daily flights and chartered helicopter service are also less than five minutes from Mäkoha Beach House.

Originally built in the 1950s, the property has been carefully and tastefully revamped to an exceptionally high standard, with the design, colours, texture and artwork reflecting the natural environment.

Guests have described the property as "a truly beautiful, wonderful place to stay". "The decor is stunning, it's wonderful. The views from the property are incredible". "Thanks for creating such a lovely place to stay!" Those staying at Mäkoha Beach House have exclusive use of the entire property.

Opened in 2005, Mäkoha Beach House offers premium luxury, beachfront accommodation and enjoys breathtaking views of Kapiti Island, the South Island and the Tararua Ranges. Escape to a special place where time seems to slow down – the perfect getaway or romantic retreat.
